Why Take this Program?
MEI’s golf program is NOT a regular golf camp but the ultimate combination of two great pursuits: golf and business. Golf has been linked to the business world since its inception, and this program is designed to connect the two into ONE epic summer experience. Much like the game of business, to be successful in the sport of golf requires intense competition, a focused mind, and self-discipline. From selecting a club to the evaluation of course conditions, no two days of golf, or business, are alike—and that is what keeps both endeavours interesting.

How it Works
Each morning students join our instructors for a healthy breakfast and a directed golf lesson. Students also receive a business case-study in each location that deals with real-world scenarios and leadership challenges. Students discuss the day’s assignment in foursomes as they complete a round of golf—using their on-course time to brainstorm and develop solutions. After nine holes on the course, students meet for lunch with their business mentor who further advises students on their case study. Guest speakers from the business community will share their expertise and guide students with feedback on their group’s performance. Students spend afternoons golfing or participating in other activities, while evenings are filled with podcasts and fun games. Golf tournaments, special events, and business competitions deliver REAL life business experiences.

Online Foundation Work
Program Preparation
Reading lists will be posted on your program site in early May. Online pre-departure sessions with your teachers and classmates begin one week prior to departure. These virtual sessions are designed to introduce you to your classmates, teachers, and course work. Our goal is to prepare you to hit the ground running and reduce your workload onsite.

Departure
Day 1: Our program begins at the Caledon Woods Golf course just north of Toronto's International Airport. Here, we meet our crew members to distribute course packs, T-shirts and MEI Journals, and clarify travel procedures. After our final goodbyes, we board the bus headed north to Muskoka.

Muskoka
Days 1-6: The first stop of our adventure takes us to Muskoka, the scenic wonderland of the near-north. ClubLink courses like Rocky Crest and The Lake Joseph Club have become legendary not only for their natural beauty but for their top-rated facilities. Our daily leadership activities will delve into the biographies of business gurus so that we can learn and be inspired by their insights. Guest speakers reveal their stories of challenges and successes as they pursued their dreams in the business world. After golf tournaments and business competitions, we rejuvenate during free afternoons, enjoying some of the best summer activities in the region.

Ottawa
Days 6-11: In Ottawa, we hit the Links, and the streets, of the capital city of this great nation. During our stay in Ottawa, we can expect to be challenged on the prestigious GreyHawk Golf Course while also challenging ourselves academically in a business competition for the ages. When not swinging the sticks or making stock market moves, we will explore the history and grandeur of Ottawa, the centre of culture and politics, from the Rideau Canal to Parliament Hill.

Mont-Tremblant
Days 11-16: From Ottawa, we travel out of province to Mont-Tremblant in Quebec to play Le Val de Lac and Le Maître de Mont, two world-class facilities of exceptional charm. Academically, we focus on learning key concepts behind diversification and asset allocation and develop an all-season investment portfolio. On our final day in Mont-Tremblant, we participate in one more golf tournament that incorporates leadership skills, business acumen, and golf scores.

Montreal
Days 19-21: Montreal offers us the opportunity to see a side of Canada that is rich in music, fashion, and unique cuisine. We balance our time on the course with discovering historic neighbourhoods like the Mile-End, the Plateau, and a chance to visit McGill University. We conclude our program with a final tournament in Montreal, where we pull together the skills we have learned from our business studies, competitions, guest lectures, and personal experiences. Our closing banquet and awards dinner makes our final evening in Montreal a night to remember!
